CHICAGO -- Retail giant Sears Holdings Corp. hopes to expand its Sears Auto Center network by recruiting former auto dealers as franchisees. The Independent Sears Auto Center franchise program allows dealers who lost their General Motors Co. or Chrysler Group franchises to operate as licensed Sears Auto Centers. Coleman Auto Group, of East Windsor, N.J., is the first dealership to sign up. It will open a Sears Auto Center on March 27 on the site of its former Chrysler dealership.
