CHICAGO -- Zurich North America has introduced a process that allows dealerships to remit insurance products such as vehicle service contracts over the Internet. Zurich already offers dealers a Web-based system for quoting prices on its contracts.
The system pulls rating information directly from the dealer's main computer system based on the vehicle identification number.
Electronic submission eliminates the need to store paper contracts and to mail them to Zurich. It gives Zurich an immediate record of the contract so it can handle claims right away. The company also can process and pay the sales incentives it offers more quickly.
