Jaguar won top honors in the annual J.D. Power and Associates Sales Satisfaction Index -- the fifth time in six years it has taken the top spot.
The index measures how well customers are satisfied with their buying experience.
Jaguar finished with a score of 898 on Power's 1,000-point scale
Ford Motor Co.'s Mercury brand scored highest among mass-market brands. Although 13 luxury brands scored higher on average than 24 mass-market brands -- 864 to 832 on Power's 1,000-point scale -- the ranges overlapped considerably.
Rounding out the top five luxury brands were Cadillac, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover.
Among mass-market brands, Mercury was followed closely by Smart, Buick, Pontiac and Chevrolet.
The bottom five, counting up from Mitsubishi, were Jeep, Dodge, Mazda and Nissan.
