ADESA Inc. has formed a division to provide dealers analytical information, support and training, says the man heading the effort.
Tim Zierden, ADESA's new vice president of dealer consignment, says his team will attempt to help dealers make the most of their time at auctions by developing tools and offering new products and services.
Used-vehicle market data and analysis produced by ADESA Analytical Services will be available to dealers in a form that's easy to use, Zierden says. The new division is also placing heavy emphasis on helping dealers use its many online tools, he adds.
ADESA's online sales tools include DealerBlock, a 24-hour Internet sales channel, and LiveBlock, which enables dealers to take part in physical auctions from remote locations.
"We've got folks in the field now learning the lay of the land and starting to put together some systems," Zierden says.
Before joining ADESA, Zierden was assistant vice president and general manager of inventory solutions at DealerTrack Inc., a software company for the retail auto industry.
