To the Editor:
Regarding "Ed who? How chairman became GM's ad star" (Sept. 28): Exactly. To me, Ed Whitacre acts like somebody who does not know anything about cars and was a poor choice to get the American public to believe in and trust GM again.
GM needs to shed its old persona.
A spike-haired designer in jeans, white shirt, blazer and boat shoes with a Blackberry in his hand. Yes. Anybody not in a suit looking and talking like a numbers cruncher will help.
The person who suggested Whitacre and those who voted that way in the GM marketing department are not in touch with what is needed to change the GM image for the better and for the future. Maybe a retool is needed in marketing at GM.
