DETROIT -- Plastics and adhesives supplier Dow Automotive Systems today named Steve Henderson its news president, replacing Peter Sykes, who was named president of Dow Greater China.
Henderson, 49, most recently was Dow Automotive’s president of the Americas and was vice president of diversified products. He has held several other executive positions at the supplier since coming over from General Motors in 1987.
Henderson will be based in Tokyo, the company said.
Sykes, 48, has been president of the unit since March 2007. He first joined Dow in 1981.
Dow Automotive ranks No. 92 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 global parts suppliers, with sales to automakers of $1.67 billion in 2008. Dow Automotive is a unit of Dow Chemical Co., of Midland, Mich.
