DETROIT -- The plan is for Saturn to keep three vehicles, the Aura sedan, Vue SUV and Outlook crossover, until sometime in 2011. After that, the future is unclear.
Penske Automotive Group, one of the largest U.S. dealership groups, is expected to complete a deal to buy Saturn from General Motors Co. by the end of September. Under the agreement, GM would provide the Aura, Vue and Outlook until 2011.
In June, Chairman Roger Penske said he is in discussions with "a number of worldwide manufacturers" for other vehicles to sell.
A spokeswoman for Renault confirmed last month that the automaker was approached by Roger Penske about a deal to provide vehicles and parts.
She said any agreement between Renault and Penske would not involve partner Nissan Motor Co.
