Shopping for used vehicles on third-party auto sites is becoming more entertaining thanks to a company that produces video test drives for TV networks and Internet portals.
WheelsTV turns footage of cars and trucks, voiceover narration and music into used-car video reviews. The reviews combine vehicle reliability and quality history with fuel economy and crash data to create ratings that range from "very highly recommended" to "not recommended" as a used-vehicle purchase, says Jim Barisano, CEO of WheelsTV.
The reviews cover every make and model within a generation of each vehicle, and it's all packed into a five-minute video.
Barisano says the videos, when placed on automotive classified Web sites, help consumers buy the right used vehicles.
