Infiniti is attempting to fan sales through August with 0 percent loans and lease deals across its lineup.
The program, supported by an unusual TV ad approach, offers 0 percent financing on all models except the G37 convertible, which was introduced in June. Lease rates include a $379, 39-month offer on the 2009 G37 sedan and a $399, 39-month deal on the EX35 crossover.
The 2010 QX56 SUV is being offered at $799 for 39 months.
The 0 percent loans are for 36-month contracts. An alternate 72-month loan plan varies from 2.9 percent and 3.9 percent.
Ben Poore, vice president of the Infiniti Business Unit at Nissan North America, says he expects the program to sustain what he called encouraging sales progress at Infiniti since April.
Infiniti sales are down 37.9 percent in the first six months of 2009 from the year-earlier level. But month-over-month sales have been building since April, he said. Poore predicted July's sales will top June's.
But June sales of 6,304 were still below Infiniti's 7,242 sales in March.
To promote the financing offers, Infiniti has begun a campaign of 15-second national TV spots, paired into two segments. The first focuses on vehicle imagery. The second follows immediately with more specific information about the lease and financing deals.
Poore said the 15-second cadence seeks to create a sense of "news and urgency" among viewers.
