In June, Ford Motor Co. outsold General Motors in Canada.
Fords Canadian sales rose 23.8 percent from a year earlier -- its first year-over-year gain of 2009 -- to 28,274 units. GMs sales dropped 31.2 percent to 22,071.
Canadas total new light-vehicle sales fell 13.2 percent to 138,579. In the first six months, sales slid 18.4 percent to 721,628.
Ford also had topped GM in February. In the first six months, GMs 133,749 sales lead Fords 111,231.
Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group jumped to No. 4 in June, from No. 6 a year earlier. Hyundai-Kias sales climbed 29.5 percent to 15,304.
Chrysler slid to No. 6 from No. 4 a year earlier, as its sales collapsed 58.5 percent to 9,211.
Among other leading makers, Toyota Motor Corp.s sales fell 17.1 percent to 18,600. Honda Motor Co.s sales fell 16.7 percent to 13,754.
