DETROIT -- Yoshiki Sekiguchi has replaced Haruya Maruyama as CEO at Denso International America Inc. and will direct the Japanese auto parts suppliers North American operations, the company announced today.
Maruyama had served as CEO since April 2008.
Sekiguchis appointment is effective immediately. Prior to his new appointment, he was a managing officer of Denso North Americas Japan-based parent Denso Corp.
Sekiguchi will be Densos fourth North American chief in the past 18 months.
Maruyama replaced then-CEO Kenji Ohya in April 2008, just four months after Ohya replaced outgoing CEO Mitsuo Matsushita in December 2007. Matsushita had served as CEO since 2004.
Prior to being named a managing officer in 2008, Sekiguchi held a number of sales positions at company operations in Japan and the United States after joining the companys aftermarket sales department in 1978.
In addition to serving as president and CEO of Denso North America, Sekiguchi also will be chairman of the board of directors for the North American Denso Group, according to a company statement.
