Telesto Ventures, a contender for General Motors' Saturn brand, has recruited a team of Chrysler veterans as advisers, a spokeswoman confirms.
The team includes several former Chrysler executives: designer Tom Gale; Steve Torok, former Chrysler general manager; Ted Cunningham, past global sales and marketing chief; and Susan Unger, previously the chief information officer.
Telesto Ventures is an investor group out of Oklahoma City that includes private equity firm Black Oak Partners LLC.
The group may compete against another former Chrysler executive for the Saturn bid.
Former Chrysler President Tom LaSorda last week joined Penske Automotive Group to advise the retailer on its possible bid for Saturn.
LaSorda left GM in 2000 to join Chrysler, where he became CEO. He was replaced by Robert Nardelli after Cerberus Capital Management LP purchased the U.S. automaker in 2007.
