Rejected Chrysler LLC dealers face a U.S. Bankruptcy Court hearing June 3 to determine whether the automaker can revoke their franchises. As of Friday, May 22, the Committee of Chrysler Affected Dealers had not received a delay to allow it to prepare objections to Chrysler's plan to reject 789 franchise agreements.
On another front, U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, says she is trying to buy more time for Chrysler dealers to shed inventory by adding an amendment to a pending war-funding bill. Chrysler wants to cut the dealers loose June 9.
