Peter Brown and others are quick to throw Saturn under the bus as a venture that was ill-advised and is now superfluous ("Firing dealers is no job for an amateur," Comment, May 11).
Consider that we have sold some 4 million small vehicles with great dealer personnel, great facilities, a great reputation for innovation and, sometimes, not-so-great product.
Saturn has, indeed, changed the way vehicles are sold in our country.
The "new" focus is on selling small vehicles with "right-sized," high-quality dealer networks.
And the answer is to jettison Saturn? Hello? Is anyone paying attention?
