Support your captive. Many of us would not be dealers today if it were not for captive lenders in 1990. Same today. While banks are running, our captive lenders are stepping up. They need our support. I was at a General Motors-Chrysler dealer meeting in Connecticut the other day. Ask those guys if they miss their captive lending sources.
We beat up our captives for better rates, better leases, buy deeper, change the tier -- and lots of favors. After the events that have shaken our foundation, I cannot believe there is anything more important than to have a strong captive lender.
