Keith Crain has written columns criticizing Cerberus and its conduct as the owner of Chrysler. I take issue with his opinions. I have some knowledge, having worked in sales for Chrysler for 13 years and as a Chrysler dealer for 40 years.
The executives Cerberus installed at Chrysler have been excellent. They have improved our product quality drastically. They have put integrity back in the factory-dealer relationship.
The financial hurricane that hit the auto business was not of their making, but Chrysler's response to this disaster has been excellent.
If you want to blame someone for Chrysler's problems, go to Stuttgart and Berlin, not New York or Detroit.
