Pontiac has created more than its share of collectible muscle cars. And now that the brand is headed for the last lap of Wide Track Boulevard, two limited-run models could join the ranks of -- well, if not classics, at least historical oddities.
They are the Solstice Coupe, a fastback two-seater likely to have a production run of around 1,000 units; and the Australian-made G8 GXP, a thundering muscle sedan. Only 1,500 of those will be sent to the United States in 2009.
Pontiac spokesman Jim Hopson said the factory began shipping the Solstice Coupe on April 3.
