DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co.s leader in China is retiring.
Mei-Wei Cheng, 59, will step down April 1 from his position as group vice president and Ford China executive chairman. Robert Graziano will assume Chengs responsibilities and become chairman and CEO of the automakers China operation. Graziano currently is president and CEO of Ford China.
Cheng joined Ford in 1998 and spent his entire time at the company launching the Ford brand in China and then running the operation there. He stepped down as CEO of Ford China in early 2008 and began turning responsibility over to Graziano.
