Incoming AIADA chairman Russ Darrow spoke with Staff Reporter Harry Stoffer about other issues facing import-brand dealers this year.
Q&A: Estate tax repeal takes a back seat
We all would like to see it happen, but the reality is the economy must be priority No. 1. Obviously, we don't want to have that tax thing, but it can't be No. 1 right this minute.
We think that will be addressed in the first 100 days. And that is a crisis, in our opinion. It takes away the whole idea of Americans having the right of a free vote, a secret ballot. If that would be passed, it would allow for unions or other groups to have meetings or parties at ballparks and the parking lot, the tailgate parties, and then go around and sign them up.
I think President Obama may slow that one down just a little bit, out of necessity as well as good judgment.
