DETROIT — Key Plastics LLC plans to shut an exterior door handles plant in Plymouth, Mich., eliminating all 137 jobs by spring.
Production will stop on Feb. 20, when most of the plant's jobs will be cut, says Kevin Koshowski, company director of human resources. A small number of remaining jobs will be phased out gradually in March and April as the plant is prepared to close.
The Plymouth factory is the third plant to be shut in a series of capacity reductions.
Key Plastics filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization on Dec. 15. The filing was the company's second Chapter 11. Key expects to emerge from Chapter 11 protection Jan. 29.
Key Plastics, of suburban Detroit, makes interior, exterior and under-the-hood parts.
