Carl Black -- who owns five new- and two used-vehicle dealerships in Florida, Tennessee and Georgia -- has bid to buy the Bill Heard Enterprises Inc. store in Kennesaw, Ga.
The proposed sale, filed late Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Alabama, brings the total of spoken-for Heard stores to four. Heard Enterprises has been peddling its 14 dealerships since it filed for bankruptcy protection last month.
Carl Black Automotive Groups stores, including a General Motors dealership in Kennesaw, sell Buick, Pontiac, GMC, Chevrolet, Hummer and Saturn vehicles. Black could not be reached today for comment.
Other proposed sales include Michigan dealer Joe Serras bid for one of Heards Las Vegas stores; Texas dealer Tom Durants offer for the Heard dealership in Plant City, Fla.; and Texas dealer Mac Haiks bid for Heards Houston area store. Serra originally bid for both Las Vegas stores but on Wednesday withdrew one bid.
Black will win the right to buy the Kennesaw dealership if his bid survives a Nov. 11 auction and a Nov. 12 Bankruptcy Court hearing.
