Volkswagen Group of America is bringing back its sign-then-drive promotion to stimulate new-model leasing.
Effective today, VW will waive the security deposit and the first monthly payment for customers leasing any of these 2009 models: Rabbit, Jetta 2.5L, Jetta SportWagen 2.5L, GTI, New Beetle, New Beetle convertible, Eos, Passat, Passat wagon, Tiguan, Touareg and Routan, as well as the 2008 R32.
Additionally, there is a $500 on-the-spot loyalty discount offer to owners of 1999 model or newer VWs who buy or lease selected models.
All 2009 VWs are included in the no-charge Carefree Maintenance Program -- which covers scheduled maintenance, as described in VWs maintenance booklet, for the 3-year/36,000-mile new-vehicle warranty period.
VW offered similar sign-then-drive promotions in November 2007 and February 2008.
Weve brought back the successful sign-then-drive lease event to provide customers with an attractive lease option, Mark Barnes, COO of Volkswagen Group of America Inc., said in a statement. In these tough economic times, its important for Volkswagen to take action to ensure that we continue to maintain and grow our market share.
Volkswagen Group of America sold 24,879 vehicles in September, 8.1 percent lower than September 2007. Nine-month sales totaled 243,371, down 1.3 percent from last year, making VW one of the few automakers holding steady in the current down market.
