In a bow to the era of cell phones and YouTube, a nice tradition bit the dust at Ford last month. Citing security concerns, the company prohibited design studio employees from participating in the national “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work” day on April 24.
“It's an important place for us to maintain a very high security level,” said Ford spokeswoman Charlotte Fisher. “We just wanted to make sure this year there were not any security breaches.”
The no-kids edict came a couple of weeks after the company was burned by a grainy, cell-phone-quality photo that surfaced on various Web sites and spilled the beans about the redesigned 2010 Taurus.
