DETROIT -- In a bid to boost sales in a slow month, Chrysler LLC is offering employees of all its U.S. dealerships the same price discount as company employees. The incentive has been extended through June 2.
Dealers learned of the program Thursday, April 24.
Dealership employees also can take advantage of all available incentives. Excluded will be all SRT models, the Dodge Sprinter, Challenger and Viper. All other 2007, 2008 and 2009 models are included.
After the discount expires in early June, Chrysler will resume its normal dealership employee program. Under that plan, a dealership employee working at a Five-Star Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge franchise is eligible to receive the invoice price minus $750. An employee at a non-Five Star store receives 1 percent under invoice.
A Chrysler spokesperson said the company had offered the factory employee discount to dealers once before, in 2005.
