Hard to believe, but sales at Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. have declined for four straight months. That's something we haven't seen for a while — 13 years, to be precise.
Not since November has the Japanese juggernaut reported an overall monthly gain for its three brands: Toyota, Scion and Lexus.
Sales were down 10.3 percent in March compared with the same month last year and off 5.6 percent in the first quarter.
"We're not immune to the economic cycle," Bob Carter, Toyota Motor Sales group vice president, said last week in a conference call with reporters.
