Wholesale shipments of towable recreational vehicles and motor homes slipped to 24,900 units in January, a 7.1 percent decline from January 2007, according to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.
Total RV and motor home shipments continued 2007's year-end trend, declining for a third straight month.
January shipments of towable RVs to retailers fell 4.4 percent to 21,600 units. Shipments of motor homes dropped even faster, falling 21.4 percent to 3,300 vehicles.
The totals do not include conversion vehicles. The RV association stopped including those in its monthly shipment totals in October. Manufacturers of conversion vehicles have cut ties with the association.
