FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) -- Audi is exploring the possibility of setting up a manufacturing plant in the U.S., CEO Rupert Stadler said in an interview with Die Welt yesterday.
He said the company is studying setting up additional plants abroad as part of its strategy to sell around 1.5 million cars worldwide by 2015.
"The U.S. is on the agenda," he said.
He said in the next 6-12 months, Audi will give an indication on the options it would take.
He said the current weakness of the U.S. dollar does not worry him because Audi has hedged its dollar exposure for this year.
