Nissan North America Inc. says it has cut the base price of the 2009 Murano crossover by $1,500 from that of the 2008 model.
Base prices of the redesigned 2009 Murano range from $27,075 for the front-drive S trim level to $36,655 for the all-wheel-drive LE trim level. The price includes a destination charge of $745, unchanged from the previous year.
The vehicle goes on sale this week.
Like the Altima and Altima coupe, the second-generation Murano is built on the new D platform. The Muranos VQ engine, also shared with the Altima, is a 3.5-liter V-6 that makes 265 hp.
Standard Murano features include dual-zone air conditioning, power windows and push-button ignition on the fwd S version; and a Bose sound system, XM Satellite Radio, heated front and rear seats, and power liftgate on the awd LE version. Options include a sliding glass moonroof and second-row skylight.
