DETROIT -- The A-BAT hybrid pickup concept will be one of Toyota's two unveilings at the auto show here in mid-January.
The A-BAT is smaller than the Toyota Tacoma pickup and has a 4-foot bed. But the concept uses a sliding roof panel and a fold-down gate behind the seats to carry more cargo. The A-BAT has a unibody platform.
Also at the Detroit show, Subaru will present the redesigned 2009 Forester, which looks more like an SUV than its wagon-like predecessor.
