MUNICH -- Wolfgang Dehen will lead the energy unit at the German industrial giant Siemens.
Dehen, 53, was the head of automotive electronics unit VDO that Siemens sold to Continental this year.
Dehen's appointment is part of a restructuring approved by Siemens' board today.
CEO Peter Loescher, who took over as head of Siemens in May, is restructuring the company in the wake of investigations into suspected bribes that may amount to billions of euros, which prompted Siemens' previous CEO and chairman to resign this year.
From January 1, Loescher will regroup the company's 10 units into three divisions aligned with global growth trends: infrastructure and industry, energy, and medical technology.
Heinrich Hiesinger will run its industry division. Hiesinger is a member of Siemens' corporate executive committee.
Erich Reinhardt, president of Siemens medical solutions, will head the medical technology unit.
