Wholesale shipments of recreation and conversion vehicles slipped 5.1 percent in September from a year earlier.
The decline was the smallest since July 2006, when shipments increased 0.3 percent.
A total of 28,100 RVs and conversion vehicles were shipped to retailers in September, compared with 29,600 a year earlier.
Shipments of towable RVs were down 3.5 percent to 22,300 vehicles. Motor home shipments fell 4.3 percent to 4,500 vehicles.
For September, shipments of conversion vehicles dropped 27.8 percent from last year to 1,300 vehicles.
Through the first nine months of 2007, shipments to retailers of towable RVs and motor homes were down 11.1 percent from the year-earlier period to 281,100 units.
Year-to-date shipments of all RVs and conversion vehicles through September are down 12.5 percent to 294,900 vehicles.
