DETROIT - Tim Leuliette, who headed the creation of Metaldyne Corp. in 2000 and its sale to Japanese supplier Asahi Tec this year, will leave the chassis and powertrain parts supplier Jan. 11.
Leuliette, 57, plans to start his own company. Details about the new venture were not available last week.
Leuliette will be succeeded by Thomas Amato, 44, who has been named co-CEO of Asahi Tec Corp. and chairman and CEO of Metaldyne. Amato had been executive vice president, corporate development officer and treasurer.
