The auto industry remains the nation's largest advertiser, even if its spending is likely to reach a six-year low in 2007.
So it's not surprising that our colleagues at Advertising Age listed six auto executives on its annual list of marketing's top 30 "Power Players" — decision-makers with the biggest budgets, most influence and best reputations for leadership and innovation.
They are Mark LaNeve at GM (No. 3), Mark Fields at Ford (No. 5), Jim Lentz at Toyota (No. 9), John Mendel at Honda (No. 13), Mark McNabb at Nissan (No. 15) and Jim Press at Chrysler (No. 18).
Given the rapid turnover of marketing executives at car companies, it's worth noting that none of these gentlemen has left his current job or taken a new one — this morning.
