The prices of the redesigned 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra full-sized pickups will start at $23,605, including shipping -- the same price as the models they replace, General Motors said today.
The base price for both trucks is for the rear-wheel-drive, extended-cab model powered by a 4.8-liter V-8 engine. The two-wheel-drive crew-cab version with the same engine will start at $27,000, including shipping. These are also the same prices as the 2006 models they replace.
Besides these "most popular" models, the company said that about half of the 2007 Silverado and Sierra models are within $300 of the ones they replace, including some models that decreased in price.
All models will come equipped with OnStar and tire pressure monitoring systems as standard equipment. The trucks also get GM's 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Production of the trucks will begin Monday, Oct. 2. They are expected to arrive in dealerships in early November.
Prices for other models are:
- Chevrolet Silverado, extended cab, four-wheel drive: $29,960
- Silverado, crew cab, 4wd: $32,515
- GMC Sierra, extended cab, 4wd: $30,500
- Sierra, crew cab, 4wd: $33,055.
