YORK TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Toyota Motor Corp.'s new technical center in southeast Michigan will include the automaker's first crash test site in North America. Toyota is spending $187 million to build a new center on a 700-acre site here south of Ann Arbor.
A 350,000-square-foot engineering design building is another part of the project. The engineering and crash test centers are scheduled to open in 2008. Toyota said the technical center expansion will add 400 jobs by 2010.
