LR2: The LR2 will be Land Rover's entry-level vehicle, arriving in the United States in early 2007. In spirit it replaces the Freelander, which is no longer sold here. One model will be offered, a five-door five-seater.
Production is planned at the Halewood, England, plant alongside the Jaguar X-Type. The LR2 will be loosely based on Ford's EUCD platform, shared with the Volvo S80 and Ford Mondeo and Galaxy. The transversely mounted 230-hp, 3.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine will be sourced from Volvo.
LR3: No major changes planned.
Range Rover Sport: Introduced in summer 2005. No major changes planned.
Range Rover: A 2010 model year redesign has the Range Rover ditching its BMW-designed platform and moving to the LR3 platform, just like the Range Rover Sport.
