Used-vehicle chain J.D. Byrider has added five dealerships this year and expects to add eight more by year end.
J.D. Byrider opened four stores in the same period last year, a company spokesperson said. The company opened a total of 11 stores in 2005.
In the first six months of this year J.D. Byrider opened stores in Nashville, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, San Antonio and Blacksburg, Va.
By year end, the company expects to have dealerships in Belleville and Springfield, Ill.; Clarksburg, W. Va.; Kernersville, N.C.; Pinellas Park, Fla.; Fort Worth, Texas; Kansas City, Mo.; and another store in Pittsburgh.
J.D. Byrider, of Carmel, Ind., has more than 120 dealerships, some company-owned and some franchises, in 28 states.
