General Motors has appointed executives to lead operations in South Korea, Canada and Mexico.
The appointments are: Michael Grimaldi, 54, to CEO of GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. in South Korea. He has been president of GM of Canada since January 2002. Grimaldi has been with GM since 1976 and has held numerous positions, including executive director of planning for North America and vice president, and vehicle line executive for full-size pickup trucks and SUVs.
Grimaldi replaces and will report to Nick Reilly, who became president of GM Asia Pacific earlier this month. Arturo Elias, 51, to president of GM of Canada. He has been president of GM de Mexico since March 2001. Elias has worked for GM since 1978. He has held many financial positions and has been managing director for GM Argentina and GM Chile. Kevin Williams, 44, to president of GM de Mexico. He has been manufacturing director of GM de Mexico since June 2005. Before that, Williams was GM North America vice president of quality and held several positions in GM worldwide purchasing. He has been with the company since 1983.
Elias and Williams will report to Troy Clarke, president of GM North America. The changes take effect Aug. 1.
