CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- SPX Corp., which makes automotive fluid filters and testing equipment, said Chairman Charles Johnson II plans to retire from the board of directors at the next annual meeting. Johnson, who will turn 70 in February, is serving a three-year term that expires at the 2007 annual meeting.
David Williams, 71, also plans to retire from the board at the next annual meeting. Company policy requires nonmanagement directors to retire at the conclusion of their term after their 70th birthday. The company said it plans a search to replace the retiring directors.
