DETROIT -- Shoichiro Irimajiri, the onetime head of Honda of America Manufacturing Inc., has retired from Delphi Corp.'s board of directors, the supplier announced. Irimajiri, 66, is chairman of Asahi Tech, an affiliate of Asahi Denso Co. Ltd., which makes key parts for ignitions, tanks and locks.
"Mr. Irimajiri retires from Delphi's board of directors after many years of distinguished service since Delphi's spinoff from General Motors in 1999," a one-paragraph statement from Delphi said. "Mr. Irimajiri's resignation is not as a result of a disagreement with Delphi or with any of its operations, policies or practices."
Delphi has been in Chapter 11 reorganization since Oct. 8, 2005.
