DETROIT -- Japanese supplier Denso Corp. announced last week that its plant in Istanbul, Turkey, will expand its air-conditioner production capability by building a plant about 20 miles southwest of its current location. Construction is scheduled to begin in July and is to be completed by June 2007. Production is to start in August 2007.
Denso, based in Kariya, Japan, said in a press release that by 2010, its Turkish unit will increase annual production capability of air-conditioning units to 250,000 from about 140,000 now.
