DETROIT -- Chevrolet is inviting consumers to create online commercials for the Tahoe. The company advertised the contest during a recent episode of NBC's "The Apprentice" that featured the SUV.
Visitors to chevyapprentice.com can win trips and cash for creating the winning 30-second Tahoe spot. Contestants pick music and video clips on the Web site and add their own copy.
Chevrolet officials say they will evaluate the submissions based on how well they communicate Tahoe's brand promise of "more capable, more responsible and more refined." The contest ends today, April 10.
The contest has attracted some negative -- even obscene -- entries. Several commercials, posted on the blog dailykos.com, criticize the Tahoe for slurping gasoline, ruining the planet and contributing to global warming. Chevrolet had no comment.
