WASHINGTON -- The National Automobile Dealers Association is launching its international affairs department this week.
Albert Gallegos, 38, a former Ford Motor Co. executive, will direct the department, NADA said Friday. He was scheduled to begin today, April 3. Gallegos established a dealer network for Ford in Chile and represented the company in the Middle East, the Caribbean and elsewhere in South America. His last job was with Alliance Consultants, an international consulting firm here.
In a statement, NADA President Phil Brady said the new department will help the association "address the needs of our dealer members, given the ever-increasing interrelationship between our industry's U.S. and international interests."
