DETROIT -- ThyssenKrupp Automotive has been added to Ford Motor Co.'s list of preferred suppliers. Twenty-nine companies are now on the list. Ford hopes that trimming its supplier ranks worldwide will cut costs, improve quality and strengthen its working relationships with the suppliers that remain.
ThyssenKrupp Automotive, of Bochum, Germany, produces body systems, chassis modules, powertrains, suspensions, steering systems and drivetrains.
