DETROIT -- Although no sale is imminent, some of ThyssenKrupp AG's automotive operations could be sold as the German company moves ahead with restructuring plans.
ThyssenKrupp makes chassis parts, powertrain components and other parts for nearly all domestic and import-brand vehicles built in the United States.
The company operates about 30 plants employing nearly 14,000 workers in the United States and Canada. Its U.S. headquarters are in Troy, Mich.
