DETROIT -- The Ford brand is slapping as much as $1,000 in down-payment matching money on most of its 2006 vehicles in March and April.
The "Perfect Match" program runs through May 1. It is in addition to other cash rebates available on individual nameplates.
Promotional ads for the program highlight the Fusion sedan, the Escape crossover, and the F-150 pickup, a Ford spokesman says.
The Fusion, F-150 and gasoline-powered Escape qualify for the $1,000 incentive. Other vehicles, such as the Mustang V-6, Freestyle and Escape Hybrid, are eligible for a $500 match. The F-250 and F-350 pickups and Mustang V-8 do not get matching money.
