LOS ANGELES - Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. has lowered the base price of the Camry sedan by $175, to $18,850 including shipping, for the redesigned 2007 model with a five-speed manual transmission. Mid-level Camrys got minor price increases, and top-end models got price increases to reflect increased content.
Toyota also increased the dealer discount on the car, but executives declined to give specifics.
Toyota cut the price of the base CE model even though it has more standard equipment than the model it replaces. The volume-leader Camry LE, with a four-cylinder engine and five-speed automatic transmission, starts at $21,080, a $125 increase.
All prices include shipping.
