Ferrari fans gasped last week at news that a $1 million Ferrari Enzo - one of only 400 built - was crashed while allegedly racing a Mercedes-Benz SLR on the Pacific Coast Highway outside Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Times, police say the Enzo, powered by a 660-hp, 6.0-liter V-12, was doing about 120 mph when it left the road, hit a telephone pole and broke in half.
What police are not sure of is who was driving. The car is registered to Swedish businessman Stefan Eriksson. He told police he was riding in the car at the time of the crash while it was being driven by a German man he knew only as Dieter. Eriksson said that after the crash, Dieter ran away.
