DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. shareholders again are asking to vote on a plan that would reduce the power of the Ford family's special Class B shares. Ford Motor has gotten a "one share, one vote" proposal to be heard at the company's 2006 annual meeting, a Ford spokeswoman said.
At Ford's 2005 annual meeting, a similar proposal attracted 25 percent of votes cast. The Ford family's Class B shares give it 40 percent of the shareholder vote.
The company has not scheduled this year's annual meeting.
