WASHINGTON -- The Chrysler group is recalling almost 160,000 light trucks built for the 2006 model year to repair four separate defects.
The recalls include some Raider pickups built by the Chrysler group for Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration late last week gave these details:
- Nearly 80,000 Dodge Dakotas and Durangos and Mitsubishi Raiders are to have instrument clusters reprogrammed to prevent malfunctions of windshield wipers, headlights and turn signals.
- About 39,000 Dodge Rams and Dakotas and Raiders are to get new antilock brake control units.
- Nearly 16,000 Jeep Liberty SUVs need oxygen sensor wiring altered to prevent vehicle fires.
- About 24,000 Jeep Commanders are scheduled for repairs to third-row seat belts.
